Going Green

Make changes in how you do your laundry. Wash your clothes in cold water. Up to 90 percent of the energy used for washing clothing goes to heating water. Rack up even more savings by air-drying some of your clothing.

Last night I did laundry and hung all of my shirts!!!! Ahhhh the smell so good today. I think the dryer tends to leave a dry smell or hot burn effect!!! I know I am wierd but I will be excited to see my electric bill next month!!!

  1. Since my dryer is on strike (read as broken) hanging my shirts would definitely be an option. Where to hang them though is the question!?!? I know my mom used to hang hers on the curtin rod in the living room. I think people thought she was ecclectic in her interior design... come to find out she was just thrifty! :)
You know... I think it's tide that makes a cold water detergent. Do you use that or just a regular detergent?

  2. I'm sorry but I just don't feel like it gets clean unless you use hot water. And hanging them leaves them wrinkled. I like the way my dryer makes them smell.
Sorry if I totally just shut down your idea.....I do practice other ways of going green. We bring our own bags to the store, use energy efficient light bulbs, and recycle.

  3. I was half and half. I wash my whites and towels/sheets on Hot but everything on cold. But I will start line drying more of them just for you :)
