My Amazing Saturday Night

DATE NIGHT: We dropped Bubba off at Ashley and Ian's house and then away Russ and I went. It was a total sucess! Red Lobster for dinner, key lime pie for dessert, and then after we picked bubba up, got right back into our jammies we  watched a bootleg copy of The Hangover! Hilarious movie by the way!
After picking Dalton up though I couldnt help but snag a few pictures with him while he wanted to love on his mommy. He is getting so big and I totally am lovin him more everyday. As much as I dont want him to grow up, I am doing the best I know how to make him a great Man!
In these pics he is trying to kiss me, but my camera has such a bad delay that he would kiss me to fast and I wouldnt capture it...very frustrating! :( Also look how lushes the grass is out the window behind us. Gotta loves the Kansas summer rain this year. Usually the grass is all burnt up by now! I hope everyones weekend was as rested and fullfilled as mine.

A Amazingly Selfish Day

I cant remember a time that I was selfish last. Today was a great super selfish day. I cleaned and jammed to the radio. Of course after I spoiled myself with the new Jodan Sparks CD. Totally great dance funny, shake what your mama gave you music. LOVE IT!

The song Battlfield that they are playing on the radio is the greatest when she sings "better go an get your armour, get your armour...blah blah blah" you get my drift right! Its so girl kiss ass rockish. Its the only time I feel like superwoman. Well that CD and any music of Cher's. :) Te He!

Anyway I just wanted to journal that my day was awesome, I was alone for most of it in which I think is true reason for it being so Superb!

Tomorrow is Garage Sale day. So we will be a risin and a shinin early....as usual! Duh remember that 2.5 year old I have that does not sleep in. :)

Is It Party or Potty Time?

Dalton is a little over 2.5years old and we have begun the first stage of potty time. Ms. Gabby has been working on and off with him for awhile now so he is not afraid of the potty. He used to scream smething fierce. He has never used a potty chair just went straight to the big dog! So today we headed to Gabby's with 7 pair under-roos, extra shorts and pull-ups! He did great all day for her, nothing out of the norm of course. For me he is a different child so believe come 4pm today I was sweating and the headache set in like something intense. Not trying to be selfish but I get in that door and want nothing but relaxation (which honestly when was the last time that took place?) For this I knew I had to be on top of my game.
Not kidding you the we weren't in the house 10 minutes and I had him on the toilet...tick tock, tick tock, nothing! So he gets up goes out to the kitchen and like 30 seconds later, splash all over my kitchen floor, the kid almost bust his head cause it was slippery! Ugh, sigh, What had I got myself into now? I tried not to yell and to remain chill because its the first day. It just killed me to know he was 100% at Ms. Gabby's. I have a candy bowl too Bubba! I told him we go in the potty not on mommy's clean floor (yeah oh so clean right?) and then he wrapped his arms around my neck and said "Sorry Mommy, Sorry" and I just melted! Man he is good!

After that ONE accident, he went like 5 times every time a splash or sprinkle in the toilet! He pulls his underwear or in this case tonight his pull-up off on his own, climbs up onto the toilet on his own and then hops down like such a big boy! Then comes the flushing...we might have a problem brewing. He loves to flush!

A Weekend Re-Cap!

Totally an old picture from Easter 2009, but it's a reminder to me 'mommy" that time is moving way to fast! I love you Bubby!
We did nothing but We did everything.

Friday: I ran with Candie and bird to the ends of the earth, really I am not joking. We drove aimlessly around all parts of town drinking coffee and jamming out to music while Bird slept in the backseat! The weather was way to nice to not take full advantage of a sunroof, windows down and some good ole Ipod shuffling! We should have shuffled more ;)
Friday Afternoon: Russ and I had to drive to Topeka to retrieve Dalton's birth certificate that we never filed for and the kid is almost 3, YES, we are those parents! You know Russ and I though we listened to music holding pinky's the whole way!
Friday Night: With open windows through out the house we ate dinner with the boys and then just lounged around the house until almost 11pm. Then turned in.

Saturday: Early, slow rise! It doesn't matter what time my children go to bed they are early to wake up, not sure where they get that ;) Dalton does anyway. I honestly think Austin just doesn't sleep!
Saturday Afternoon: I invested in a vacuum. I laid the large area rug my mother gave me and vacuumed and cleaned and its a BEAUT! I love it! Russ and I here and there are bringing this house some warmth. One of my most wanted projects ever is a romantic, sexy, but cool, and comfy bedroom. I want chocolate and blue, I want lamps or small lighting, I want new pillows, mirrors etc. I want a bed frame for our king bed because yes ours sits on the floor. I want out room to be seductive yet comfy! So far not getting there!
Saturday Evening: Steaks on the grill, McD's for the boys and early to bed for all. Russ and I had intentions of watching a movie but it didn't happen. Our date nights never follow through.

Sunday Morning: Again early rise and shine. Austin really had been up since 5 am. I don't get how he functions on a school day! Oh well we all dressed then headed to Mom and Dads house and well....you know Russ and I we love to fly by the seat of our pants...so Garage Sale it is on this coming Friday and Saturday at the Woods. We left my mom n dads with a full truckload of things they need to sell. Plus we have accumulated some things.
Sunday Afternoon: Sonic lunch, then Bubba to nap and I to Walmart because Bubba starts full blown 100% potty training tomorrow. For goodness sake we just tossed the binky! Oh well Moms don't get breaks and I get that now! So I bought big boy under-roos and some pull-ups for nap/bedtime! Hopefully by 3rd birthday in December we will be totally trained. :( Another sad goodbye to my baby boy! I also cleaned and cleaned, and continuously picked up after EVERYONE! I swear I tell ya what! This house would be spotless if only I lived here! Not that I would ever want that but I really caught Austin tucking his trash into the couch cushion..SERIOUSLY? Yes! I told him "I clean up after Dad all week I am not doing it for you too on the weekends!"
Sunday Evening: Desiree's delivered coffee praise the Lord! We sat outside on the swing and bubba played. Russ grocery shopped all by his self (see he is a good man) and I/We did laundry! Gearing up for Monday and I have to admit I am excited! Not a bad weekend but just one of those where as I sit here my legs ache because I don't think I ever really sat!

Regarding Dalton; I know the next step is the big boy bed for bubba and I am terrified of that next move! Honestly only because we live in an old farm house and Bubba's bedroom is far away from the addition's they have done throughout the years. As we lay in our bedroom we cannot hear anything outside of our bedroom in the house. It's the reason I still have a baby monitor, or else I wouldn't hear him cry out if he woke in the night for any reason. So we will see. Russ would like to move to a house with a basement, a garage and a bigger bathroom. Yet, I love this country feel and everything is one level! Wheels are turning though! OK so my ramble is complete!

Cause Its Ladies Night

How small is Tracy's world? I will tell you. We are at a bar, some stranger with a Texas hat on comes to our table to ask for a lighter. Long story short, says he is in town to blay pall. I am like thinking Texas Rangers right, I mean you wouldnt be in town to play softball?? He says he is visiting his friend Price! The only Price I know is Price Gundlefinger...He used to plat college ball at Highland with Russ and he is oddly enough our nieghbor now. He starts yellin across the bar.....PRIIIICE (in full Texas accent) Punch line is: The strangers name is Blake Marberger and he too played ball with Russ in college. small world and boy were they nuts. To be honest they are total clones of my husband! I wish he had those buddies around all the time!
Yes she had BIG SEXY hairspray at the bar for her "Big Texas Hair"
TURNER!
Nichole questioning the shots the waitress was offering!
Mysterious isnt she???
Me and my brother's baby Mama! AKA Big Hair, AKA Turner!
The Tongue!
Run for your life it was like Anaconda!

Amy and Ashley
Amy and I, hiding half my body, its a new trick I learned!

Thursday Night I arranged a ladies night, In attendance was Desiree, Julisa, Nichole, Amy, Marny, and Ashley D. We met at Famous Sams a local bar. We had a few drinks and way too many hard laughs. Glad they dont charge for laughter cause my bill would have blown! Des and Julisa left early and the camera's didnt whip out until the odd hours! This always happens to Des!! Good times, very much needed! We will be trying harder to make this a frequent event!

Ms. Gabby

Mrs Gabby has started a blog herself so all the parents can see behind closed doors during the day. In the pouty face pictures there is water nearby and we all know Bubba and water. You can see her blog on the right side of my page!

Look how Gorgeous she is!! She is 5 and that blows my mind. I love you Emily Dawn
Running to her Mom after the day was over. Ashley said she was passed out by 530pm! School will do that to ya!

Small Great Gifts

Ashley called me last night stating she had received a package from my Grandma Underwood, who was mentioned in earlier blogs. She said it contained a blue blanket which my Grandma hand makes. She has made these blankets ever since I was little I specifically remember a black, white and red one in my house growing up! The whole family used it. Then as we branched out she made us our own. Last year I bugged her about wanting another one cause I am great at losing things and I had lost hers in the 50 times I had moved! Surprise she made me one that perfectly matched by house. I love the way they smell. They must lay on her lap the entire time she is making them so they smell like her and well she smells like soap. Like bar soap from the shower...it might be weird to you all but I love it.anyway onto the blanket for bubba, I had NO IDEA she had been making him one, let alone child size! I got it this morning from Ashley and I honestly thought Bubba would careless being he is into cars and trucks not handmade woven blanky's...Boy was I wrong! I have to address the issue here because he has had a fleece blanket in his bed for some time now and he gets mad whenever I cover him up he say "no cover me, I not like banky"

This blanket is much different, he held it on his lap in the car, threw it in his bad when he got home and then...wait for it......he wanted the blanky on him. Are you kidding me, its scratchy, you wouldn't think he would like it. Now, here's where my heart melted. I kept telling him Great-Grandma made it and then I showed him pictures of him and her on my blog and then as he lays down grinning from ear to ear(as you can see), he says "bubba banky, its great gammas?" and I said yes bubba she loves you so much...
Tears are just rolling for she is the grandma that kept us spoiled rotten all our lives and these simple little things like an blanket just means the world to me and I imagine bubba feels the same. Thank you Grandma Underwood, Thank you
Much love, your granddaughter and your great-grandson

Cheeeessse!

A stolen picture from Jasmin's blog! Bubba almost 2.7 years old!!

Lessons Learned

This past week has been a big let down to me. Yet an eye opener! See if you don't know me then let me tell you now I am a fixer, I hate sadness and people that are alone or upset! I fix, I listen, I give the best advice I can and I hope to somewhere along the way I FIX. I would never say I am selfish, I would never say I hate anyone (not even my ex, to be honest I feel incredibly sorry for the life he chose to lead) I am relatively happy, although everyone has bad days, I think I have a laugh that keeps people laughing, and number one MY heart is way to big for my body (hard to imagine I know!) Because of this person I tend to be I have started problems. (trust me its not the 1st time) When people don't like me its tends to disturb me very much. Insecurities set in big time because well call me conceited but I just don't get it! I understand I am not always gonna have 90 friends, but I would like to! I did a wrong thing and assumed the only reason someone didn't like me was because they had been convinced I was crazy or just dumb. Again MY insecurities. But to me there was no other explanation. So I had a girls night Friday and I confided in a person, which I have done on many occasions and this time it actually backfired(damn alcohol). All hell broke loose. Words got twisted and stories got told and there was no turning it around, I wasn't even gonna try. I apologize for my assumptions big time, but for some reason I still don't feel better, and this person for sure wont hang out now! ;) why? Because I am crazy and dumb!

Lesson 2: I cannot hibernate, I have tried it and I cannot do it. If I am out of commission its because I have the flu and I am not sure I would be a good hibernator then. Last night we had dinner with Jason and Jasmin Harrington, she made burritos and nachos and cinnamon rolls...and we also made a attempted sneak run to Starbucks but the guys caught us. We then as a family watched the most funny comedy I have seen in a long time, the movie I love you MAN! Hysterical! We stayed out late again (11:30pm) The Harrington's crack up because 4am is late to them! It was good to be outside the circle for awhile. I thought for certain Jazz and I would be gossiping all night but not a word, and I loved it! It was just good, relaxed humorous, crazy like entertainment. (Battery, Battery) That was for Jazz! :)

Lesson 3: Going out to Mom and Dads on a rainy Sunday morning is good for the soul and the house :) I scored on some awesome G-Sale items for FREE! Like Rugs, Room divider, bathroom items, pictures etc...Bubba had some good Grandma and Pampa time and that's what its all about right?!

Lesson 4: If your body is tired enough it shall nap! I had a very long 2 hour nap and loved every minute of it!!! I am ready for Monday!

Lesson 5: Keep the friends you have close, shut your mouth when you think you have good advice, cause they 99%of the time don't care, listen to them but they most likely aren't listening to you, care but not too much, hug but not to tight... and never assume! Old written rule ASSUME=makes an ASS out of U and ME! Life changes on a dime, people come and go, insecurities are a burden, and words can kill!

Binky Closure

I sit here on pins and needles waiting for him to start crying again. I hate it when Bubby cries! I have been a thinking mom lately. I know bubba turns 3 in December but we were all, Russ included holding on to that binky like it was part of the family. I know I was being looked at by parents in the Walmart line. I know because I have done it. I see a 3 or 4 year old with a binky and think seriously??? It didn't matter when it came to MY child though I wasn't ready. Like I said before I was the actual sucker here! It no longer soothed him, it was just becoming a nuisance on everyones behalf. Plus I know that he fully functions at daycare including a nap without his binky! So I decided on a whim this morning that I/we were done. You know me the spontaneous, non planning Tracy! We threw them in the trash, we donated them to sissy(not really but I told him that, cause she is a baby) We went to Walmart and he bought three little cars (cause he is a big boy now) and only one he actually took to his bed. I laid him down and walked out ad waited outside the bedroom door....peaceful....for a minute then the crying set in. Louder than shit! Sorry! Dalton never cried when I put him down as an infant, he WAS such a good baby, most likely why I stopped there with having children. It took me going in there once and thennnnnn Dad making his statement...he is finally quiet and possibly asleep. Dare I check? Now I am on a mission to search for those binkys that our hiding throughout the house god forbid he finds one! Ok so mission kind of complete! Hopefully tonight and next few days aren't pure hell. Huge breathe in and out! I can do this. I am a strong mommy!!!

Mind you at 845pm he is still awake and he says " mommy, come here" so i go in his room and he says "I have tell you somting" i said "what dalton?" he said "mommy pleeeaaassee get my binky out the trash for me, I da baby" and yes people I died right there on his bedroom floor. OK so I didnt really, but I told him no and left the room to bawl to myself. I am not sad or mad about the binky as much as I am thinking, actually knowing he is growing up and I want him to stay little. like i told my mom tonight, he is my baby boy and ALWAYS will be..infant, 5, 15, 20, 40 and 70years old he is MY BABY BOY!!! Tears :(

For The Record!

I'm closin up shop on my blog a little early! On August 13th, 2009. I have been blogging 1 year! Almost everyday! This has been my open bedside journal for all to view and my book to Dalton Lee Wood. Its a history book for him to read/have when he gets older. To see his old house(s), read about his crazy Mom and Dad, see all the times we loved on him, events that took place, things that he said, times he was sick, lord help us all. I want to acknowledge my friend I made through blogging. Shelly "Sheliza" she lives way out of state and I met her through here. I was new to this and she kept following and commenting and honestly she creeeped me out at first and then I discovered she was my twin. :) We now text and email each other and one day we will meet! I am going to be printing my blog off and I wanted this to be my final page. Calm down I am still blogging but my printed book stops here and I will just pick up where I left off for the next year!
Dalton's stats:
2.5 years old
35lbs...trust me he is thinning out
all teeth required at this age
speaks fluent sentences....or smart butt saying like
"whatever"
"I not talking to you"
"ooookkkkkaayyyy"
"Mommy, Daddy says be quiet to me" as he is getting in trouble
"Pampa"
Lawnmowers are tractors
Loves big trucks but not fire engines
EATS everything
Loves juice and can now tell if I put water in it, dang it!
says "I wub you"
Hates shoes
Hates socks
Wants to dress himself all the time, or pull up his pants on his own after a diaper change!
Holds a stick, or marker in his fingers like a cigarette, like daddy, pampa and most of our friends!
Loves baseball..says "I hit da ball"
Loves Phillip Cothren, Russ's friend, he is convinced he is always with him, not working!
Knows commands, like take this to the trash, or put your cup in the sink, dirty clothes in the laundry basket, pick up toys etc
Is still in a crib, still has a binky..because Mommy wants to hold on just a little longer. :(
Has been healthy or as good as he can be for 6 months
Loves his brother Austin
Attends Gabby Wyatt's Daycare and one day with Aunt Ashley
Loves outdoors....totally opposite of your brother buddy! :)
Hates water in his face, so sprinklers, or pool splashing is totally out!!
Loves Dora, we watch her on TV every night before bed!

Its been fun, its been great. First book complete! I promised a good time. I think I delivered!!!

Tuesday

WOW, we are moving at quite the pace this week. NOT! Turtles I tell ya! We are all turtles. I feel like I am constantly chasing the rabbit (which is this thing called life). I do the typical get up slave away, go to bed and repeat the next day! Here goes my rambling... I must boldly state that my shins hurt like pure hell. Honestly I walked at such a fast pace and so hard that I have ruined my shins from the 5K race this past weekend. I say race like I ran, so let me clarify I DID NOT RUN! I enjoyed every minute of it though.. I have found several other races(walks) that I will be doing just to get out for a good cause!
Ok onto Dalton...man does every 2.5 year old whine like crazy? I swear I don't get out of my car and to the front door after work and Dalton is crying. Seriously! I cant or don't want to come home to that every night. WOW! I say I hope 3 is better than terrible twos but I have heard true tales that it is not! Lord I believe we just need cows and goats for him to play with all day long. But then again his feet would get dirty....SIGH! I am eagerly wanting to plan his 3rd birthday party but I like to keep things simple and it will be totally cold being its in December. I have to note Bubba thinks he is already four so getting this three thing down will be hard!!! Oh and FYI we are trashing the binky come December if not sooner(I am hoping this Friday). I am the sucker here no pun intended. Just talking to Val my friend here at work and the thought of taking the binky away makes me all out of sorts. I know "bad mom" right. Call it what you want but this is why I had one child. I cant do all these hard things twice! We are also going to start potty training....Hmph! Such as life and all of its tragedy's...lord give me strength these next couple months.
