Water Day

When we all woke at 7:45am we noticed it was a beautiful Saturday morning so Russ and I took Dalton and headed to Antioch Park before the 90 degree heat set in. We were obviously the very first ones to feed the geese this morning cause they were crazy hungry. If you don't know by now geese are one of my biggest fears. So I as I stood way far away taking pictures Russ and bubba fed them bread. As I watched from the distance I spotted the groups of babies and I couldn't help but fall in love. They were so soft and fuzzy looking. Then there were baby ducks as well and they were even cuter! So I took pics as Bubba thoroughly enjoyed this activity! This is a picture of them quickly approaching us..like I said they seemed hungry. Pretty isn't it?

Then after the park we headed home to fill the pool. In which case the water NEVER got warm and Bubba NEVER got in!!!

We also stopped by an estate sale and some garage sales. Got drinks from the Sonic and then watched my nieces for awhile. Visited with Mom and Dad then headed to the Sonic again for drinks (I might be addicted, watch out I might be ditching Starbucks for the summer, Cherry Vanilla coke...I love you) Russ is playing in a ball tournament and I miss him. I have demanded some alone time but then again tomm. is Sunday and we typically despise each other by then. :)

Callie Day

Today is Nichole and Aj's 10 year anniversary and since Aj had spoiled the crap out of Nichole today I got to watch the girls for a little while Nichole got a pedi! Callie is just precious and is a total cuddle bug. I thoroughly enjoyed her this afternoon. Maddie was also very good as her and Austin watched Hotel For Dogs! I had to share this picture that I took with my phone!

What A Challenge

Being married anymore is a challenge right? It's true, people used to say "if you can get past those first 5 or 10 years you are good" now its if you can get past 30 you MIGHT stand a chance! People quit relationships left and right and most of the time is to leave the marriage for someone else! Nobody wants to be alone. So I told Russ when we married it was not for better or for worse it was a strong statement towards "to death do us part" We will be widows before we are divorcees! Everyday is a challenge maybe not always a hard one but getting up with the same person everyday and then going to bed with the exact is sometimes hard for some. Mine snores so sometimes it is hard for me! LOL! (I had to put humor somewhere right?) I love James Russell with every ounce of my heart and soul and every inch of my body..that's a lot! ;) I need him in order to breathe comfortably, I need him to laugh and yell at. He is my only best friend. He made me an absolutely gorgeous son and shares with me another. Nope he isn't perfect but find me someone who is. I will say this, many women and I do mean many (sorry honey) have shared a piece of their life with MY husband but no one has walked away with what I have. We will never be rich in material ways but our affectionate, emotional relationship has way more to offer. On June 2nd we will celebrate 3 years. I once said "its only our 3rd its no biggie" and boy was I quickly corrected. They were right it is a big deal, in our society its a challenge and we conquered another year. We will celebrate boldly and hope to be just as strong 50 years from now! I love you Russell Forever and Always

The Power of Prayer at work again: Thank You Everyone

Ashley checked into the hospital this morning for her angiogram. The hospital neurologist doctor spoke with Ashley and her neurologist, and preferred NOT to do the angiogram due to her young age and risks involved. They opted for a CAT-scan instead. The CAT-scan showed no signs of bleeding or a tumor, but some fat tissue/cyst (which everyone has) that may be causing the headaches. Both doctors are referring her to a headache specialist.

UPDATE on Ashley

So we got the approval from the insurance later tonight to get the angiogram, so she will call first thing in the morning to find out when this will be performed. Ian her husband will be going with her and we will all be on stand by. I know that Ashley is probably thinking doesn't anyone wanna talk about anything else and the question is NO, we want a darn answer too. We want status updates every 15minutes, hello we love you! :) OK all joking aside hopefully tomm. but we wont hold our breath! Prayers must continue!!!

When life hands you lemons...make lemonade....wth a shot of vodka!

As most of you know my sissy has been having some severe headaches. About a week ago she went to a neurologist and he sent her to have a MRI. After the MRI the radiologist suggested that she make a urgent appt. with her neuro. So yesterday at 11am I went with my sis to find out what they had for us! Hemorrhage or growth is the verdict and either way it requires a "large dose" of radiation to the brain. If it is a hemorrhage then it will continue to bleed and her headaches will get worse which I am not sure at this point they can get worse! The radiation will either shrink the growth or cauterize the bleeding. We are gonna start with a angiogram first where they shoot a dye in to the brain to actually locate the mass. Then her treatments will start ASAP! I have to admit when the doc said radiation Ash and I were both like SWEET...its the chemo where you lose your hair and get sick, but unfortunately with radiation on the brain its a guarantee you will lose your hair. Tough times ahead I tell ya, but we can do this! Is this life threatening? At this point we think not! Ashley is handling the news quiet well, I think she always just knew something was there and in a way she is glad to have an answer. Her questions are will radiation make me thin? Seriously that's the Underwood in her!! I told her if it does my butt is sitting right beside her during the process for any benefit, thats the Underwood in me. She is a strong woman! God never gives you more than you can handle right!? She is just ready for the pain to go away. Prayers are the only thing I am asking for at this point.

Farewell Ya'll

I'm have decided I am gonna take a break from BLOGGER! It's the summer and well I want to actually be outside with my bubba and crazy neighbor friends! We are planning the KC ZOO on Saturday and too many fun events with friends ahead to count. So I am planning on keeping a little paper journal with me and of course as always my camera and I will maybe post once or twice a month! So be patient with me as my updates will be enormous. My parents got a house in Tonganoxie, KS and they move June 12th. SO SUPER STOKED!!! My dad is giving a presentation for a job in Beloit KS as the job in Parsons, KS will be wrapping up in Jan 10. Our weekends are filling up this summer and for that I do not complain. On a mushier note Russ and I are more in love than ever before as we head to celebrate 3 years of marriage in June! Bubba is gonna start potty training and that means he is getting TOO BIG! So my time is limited with him ya know? OK well cant think of anymore updates at this time so have fun, laugh often and live well this summer! MWAH!

Oh Lord I just got a message from Mrs. Gabby that we are gonna start potty training Bubba~Oh the thoughts that ran through my mind...OMG am I ready for this? He is my baby! He drinks a lot, oh goodness am I ready??? He is my baby!! And then it hit me. Lets do this! Lets make him a complete big boy! So tomorrow we will be bringing big boy underwear to Mrs. Gabby's! He watches the other big kids at daycare and has used the potty before but now, NOW he is gonna be the big boy! Many posts to come.

Ash and Ian had a baptism to attend so they left Sissy with and me and soooooo I snagged a few photos while I had the opportunity. She resembles Bubba soooo much that its scary! I just love her! Look at those blue eyes. PS: Look at my long DARK hair, bye bye blonde! It was too high maintence!

Today was BEAUTIFUL...a little breezy but with open windows and new furniture from a garage sale today (yes I purchased all 4 pieces for 50.00) it was just a perfect day. Russ and I grabbed coffee at 7am and headed for garage sales! After our big buy we headed back home and Russ and Philip headed out to pick up the furniture, meanwhile I posted my sectional on Craigslist for 150.00 and in 2 hours SOLD! to so frat guys! Then Dr (my boss) came over to help move in the new stuff while Russ headed out to play in a ball tournament. Aunt Dessy came over bearing Starbucks (round 2) and we enjoyed all conversation. We then drove around to some other sales but most were closing up. Then Dessy dropped us off at home and Bubba and I headed to wash Daddy's truck BUTTTTTTT instead we swung into Marny and Deans (friends) garage sale and had some good visit time with strangers. Nichole, precious Callie, Marny and Sarah were there. Austin too, so Dalton extra enjoyed himself being pulled in the wagon by brother and playing outside in general. Then home for dinner and much needed laundry time! now Bubba is in bed and I blog my day! Good air, Good company, Great times!

When bubba woke from his nap his first words were Aunt Desiree here? So he put in some quick snuggle time for sure.

Bubba had a Dr's appt. to tell us if he was full of crap or not annnnnnd he is! Just like his Daddy! :) Ha! Anyhoot, long story really short the child is impacted! Totally! So we are starting on Miralax in the morning to make him "regular" and then we have to schedule a barium enema at Childrens Mercy Hospital to rule out Herschsprung's Disease! You will have to Google that! It's a long explanation. OR Bubba could have what they call "lazy colon" or "chronic constipation" either way we are fixing the plumbing issue! Thank goodness because even if it doesnt solve the fever mystery it will save us major moolah on diapers. Good grief!!

Mothers Day 2009

Russ got me flowers and 2 cards for Mother's Day and I was shocked to see what he wrote on the inside of one card. I asked him if he had googled this and remembered it and he says no he made it up. Impressive! So...let me know if you come across this on the internet cause I still have my doubts!

This Mothers Day the guys were in charge and that means they went to the store yesterday and grocery shopped then today they made our lunch. We had jalapeno hamburgers, beans and potato salad! Yummy! Oh and I cant forget the fact that Ian baked the cake! I mean mixed the ingredients and baked it!

Again yummy! So, the afternoon went on with good company and a cool breeze and no rain (woohoo) mom opened her gifts from us and then they headed home. Supposedly Mom and Dad have found there house. Its in Tonganoxie and they have filled out paperwork for an offer! So we will see!
