Finally MY Weston Trip!

Finally, a road trip out of Shawnee!! I have wanted to venture out to the Red Barn Farm in Weston, MO for a couple weeks now! I have wanted to make a day trip back to Weston since Russ and I visited before we ever got married and had Bubba(so technically back when we were free). It's a little antique town, they have the pumpkin patch at the Red Barn Farm and then they have a little ski lodge place around winter which is another trip I want to make. I am much different than I was last year as far as when I say I am gonna do something I really do it :) It was one of my largest flaws.
So this morning the family woke early, got dressed, headed to Quick-Trip for the boy's breakfast and to Starbucks for Russ and I's coffee...after all that we were on the road. It was a great and short drive. We left about 8:45 and arrived at like 9:20. My kind of trip!
The RBF was a really neat place for photos to be taken, so that I totally did. I would say that the best part of the entire trip was when Dalton scored his ticket to ride the pony. (I insisted he wait until we were all done with everything else, and then depending on his behavior he could ride) The ticket was an actual horseshoe. I took a video of where he sang a song about having the ticket for the pony. He really sang it the whole way to the ride! He is such a character. Never a dull moment with him.

This is where he SCORED his TICKET TO THE PONY

People tend to say that I have an old soul. Of course, I take it as a compliment. I have always been a country girl at heart. Never did I imagine actually marrying a man that grew up with horses of his own like Russell did though. I watch Dalton and see all of his interest in tractors, boots, Jason Aldean, being outside, Uncle Ryan's farm equipment and I can't help but wonder if my boy will live the country life I always wanted and dreamed of.
