Always a Bridesmaid...Never the Bride

The title of this post describes my weight situation the best. Always the bigger, funny, really nice girl, never the hot, double take, body type.
So I was a weight watcher and one week(surgery week) I wanted comfort food and wham back in the old routine I was. Maybe I made the WW program to difficult. A friend said it best this week, mind you this friend weighs maybe a buck ten and has done a marathon (sigh) but she said to quit looking at it so hard, put the good food in my mouth and enjoy the bad food every once in awhile. You will eventually hate the bad or not crave it at all. I am not so sure about that...those darn yogurt places are going up on every freakin corner LOL but I understood her!
I get what she means. If you have always been "the bigger girl" then when trying to lose the weight you DO have to know constantly what goes in your body. I got this way by not knowing constantly! :(
Last Friday I met up with a longtime friend Lori Meyers, who is what I call a fitness guru, a fitness junkie. Her drug of choice is exercise...mine is coffee! LOL I told her "I wanna do 4 or 5 miles today, what ya got?" She said "Meet me after my aerobics class at 9:15am for 4.4 miles"
So I did. HOLY HELL! I can walk! I really can! Hell Val--the marathoner jogs next to my walk. 5K no problem, sign me up! She failed to mention 4.4 miles ALL UPHILL! Holy crap batman! i did it and I felt really good with myself..but I hurt everywhere and honestly Saturday morning I could hardly get out of bed! She kept saying Aleeve and water! It got better. Sunday i put another 2 miles in. Tuesday 1 mile and today another 2 miles! Go me. Tomorrow maybe 1 or 2 and then Friday another 4. I LOVE IT! Lori pushes me to be better physically. I want a camel back water thingy and better shoes but I got this. She also insisted I look at Livestrong.com and so I did and I have been tracking my food and my exercise for 6 days now! Its easy! There is even an app on your phone for it!!!
LONGTERM goal: to walk-jog a marathon! I have a standing appt. with Lori every Friday.
Here is to becoming a hottie totty with a rockin body!
