Gosh, admit it you have missed me! I haven't even blogged Christmas. Sadly, I didn't even take many pictures this year of all the festivities. December was one big hurry blur for us Wood's. I wanted so badly for it to be here and I prayed so badly for it to leave! First, the biggest thing is that we were blessed with this roof we now live under and will be forever grateful for the magic that occurred in the process. I am still not sure it's sunk in that it is really our home. Then Dalton turned 4 on the 13th. FOUR! I still can't believe it. He is funny, ornery and precious! My dad turned 56, my sister turned 31, then Christmas, then New Years and now I am just dying to get out of January because it's getting really cold. We have a good winter storm heading our way by tomorrow night.
With really cold weather comes one cranky bored toddler, one energized puppy, one very bored and antsy hubby which all makes ONE CRAZY MOMMY AND WIFE! Hello spring! Where are you?? The best part about all of this is that I always have something to look forward too. My husband actually reminded me of that last night in conversation.
Yesterday it was date night for Russ and I. Let me tell you this NEVER happens and when it does well we acted like lost teenagers looking for something to do. We had dinner and drinks, we made out in the car and came home early. I am sure you think I am kidding. I am soooo not! I only hope to have the passion between Russ and I in 20 years as we do now. :)
OK moving on.....
With the title "homeowner" comes the part time job title called "projects" We have so many of those ahead of us. The first one being the bathroom, the second the household plumbing and third the electrical... that's it so far :) Iam excited to say we will soon have our "Murphy's Law Fund" complete which was my first ultimate goal as a homeowner. Thanks to my Aunt Jill for haunting me every night until I get it completed. (see Dave Ramsey for details on the fund)
Here are a few "goals" Russ and I have set for our family this year. If we complete half we made progress. There is nothing wrong with making a new list with things from the old one as long as you have crossed off something right?! Right!
#1-Take better care of ourselves
We started down the road to better health last Monday. So far so great!
#2-Get Murphy's Law Fund together
So far...a couple dollars shy! I am so proud of US!
#3-Enroll Dalton into something to burn energy this winter.
He starts Mini Champs Martial Art class on Monday. We will most likely be going every Tuesday and Thursday if he likes it. I also may start classes at the same academy with my uncle Kevin.
#4-Partially remodel the bathroom.
Um Ya-next!
#5-Celebrate 5 years of MARRIAGE in June!
That's it. Lets stop there and see if I can complete these first.
I hope to have yummy soups and see many friends during these chilly months. I hope I stay well and that Dalton does too. I also hope that Russ doesn't start aging incredibly fast on me either. After all he is my bestest friend.
Until next time friends....Happy New Year
