So I saw Dr. Ballonhoff (sp) today. The breast surgeon I was referred to.
Try and understand that I literally started this process October 21st, 3 weeks ago. It has been a long 3 weeks to say the least. This morning when I woke up I was more tired than ever. I think because the day had finally came and I was going to get an answer and be done, I was finally relaxing.
"I was going to get an answer and be done" Boy how I wish that were the case? It isn't! Long story very short. My next appt. is an ultrasound at the Breast Center at Menorah on November 23rd at 730am. At that appt. they will be doing a different type ultrasound and also a core needle biopsy of the abnormal tissue. This is first step. The biopsy will be sent out for study, in waiting for those results the Dr. stated I will meet with her and discuss options as far as getting an answer. Even if the biopsy comes back negative she is still concerned with the inflammation of the tissue. We are really hoping the new ultrasound shows us what is causing the tissue to be enlarged or bulky in that area. She stated we could go for surgery and remove a piece then test the tissue as well. She said that removing the entire section would be too aggressive at this point considering it's my entire upper-outer quadrant of my left breast.
OK, honestly I am tired and setting here on my blog is not entertaining me at all. I say thank you to all who have text their thoughts and prayers to me today. Today I have bawled like a baby and my husband thank god just held me and allowed me to do so. I am upset with the hurry up and wait game, the unknown and the what-ifs. I'm tired already.
Here is to high hopes!

ReplyDeleteWe love you and know that you are going to come out of this fine. I KNOW what you will be going through as I had the same core needle biopsy and they took all the lump but i was fortunate and it was benign. I'm praying this will be ok for you too. love
